          VIRGINIA BEACH – James Bryant Hewin, 58, passed away on Saturday, Aug. 30, 2008, in his residence.

          Born in Hampton, Va., on Oct. 22, 1949, he graduated from Ferguson High School, Newport News, Va., class of 1967, attended Virginia Commonwealth University, Richmond, Va., and graduated from East Carolina University, Greenville, N.C.

          class of 1971.

          James was an accomplished musician playing flute, guitar, bass and saxophone. He was a member of several bands in Virginia and Southern California including: White Rose, Oasis, Sage, Russ Kirkpatrick Band, Favorite Son, Liberation, and most recently, Slapwater.

          James was also a talented photographer and Webmaster. He was the owner of two local businesses, Absolute Web Design and James Hewin Photography. His photographs can be viewed at his site http://jameshewin.com.

          James is survived by his loving life partner, Lorri MacDonald and their dog, Jake of Virginia Beach; parents, Dr.
